Gov. Sanford: Budget Growth Should Be a Wake-Up Call

Governor Points to Recently-Labeled 'Whopping' Growth of 9 Percent in Democratic New Jersey

Columbia, S.C. - Gov. Mark Sanford today issued the following statement on the House Budget:

"Just today, the Wall Street Journal reported on the 'whopping' budget growth of 9 percent in New Jersey under a Democratic governor and Democratic legislature," Gov. Sanford said. "That should be a wake-up call to every House Republican when their budget is growing government at more than 10 percent - which runs entirely counter to the House's previous statements and the bill they passed pledging to hold growth to under 6 percent."
