Governor Sanford Wishes South Carolina Happy 4th

Columbia, S.C. – Gov. Mark Sanford today issued the following 4th of July message to South Carolinians:

“As we celebrate our nation’s independence tomorrow, I think it’s very important that we as Americans and as South Carolinians take a few minutes from the barbeque and fireworks to remember what this day is ultimately about, and that’s freedom,” Gov. Sanford said. “The idea of freedom is one that encompasses a number of things – from personal freedom to economic freedom – all of which we’ve worked hard to advance as an administration. In that vein, I’d ask that every South Carolinian pause on this day to take stock of those blessings, and to rededicate themselves to doing what they can in their day-to-day lives to stay involved in preserving them.”
