Columbia, S.C. – Today, Governor Henry McMaster and the South Carolina Department of Commerce announced that Keurig Green Mountain has committed to investing $350 million and creating 500 jobs at a new Spartanburg County manufacturing facility. That announcement means that since January of 2011, when former Governor Nikki Haley took office, the Department of Commerce has announced over 100,415 jobs created in South Carolina and $27.423 billion in capital investment.
 
“When she took office in 2011, Nikki Haley and her team went right to work creating jobs for the people of our great state and she helped set South Carolina on a path towards great economic prosperity,” said Gov. Henry McMaster. “I’m proud to continue Ambassador Haley’s economic development efforts and to work every day to create opportunities for South Carolinians. Today truly is a great day in South Carolina.”
 
Since taking office in January of 2017, Governor McMaster and Commerce Secretary Bobby Hitt have announced 18,962 jobs and $5.9 billion in capital investment.
 
Earlier today, the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce (DEW) announced that the state unemployment rate has dropped to 4.2%, which matches the lowest rate since January of 2011, meaning a 17-year low. Additionally, DEW announced an increase in the number of South Carolinians working across the state – which means more people are working in South Carolina than ever before.
