Columbia, S.C. – Governor Henry McMaster today announced a second Employ SC job fair to serve South Carolinians affected by the suspension of the VC Summer nuclear reactor project. The first event will be held in Chapin on Monday, August 14, followed by one on Wednesday, August 16 in Columbia.
The second event will be co-hosted by the city of Columbia.
Employ SC will provide South Carolinians in search of a job with an opportunity to connect with state agencies and workforce development groups focused on matching prospective employers with talented workers that fit their needs. Each cabinet agency with current vacancies will also be represented and will be ready to interview prospective employees.
"The outpouring of support from the South Carolina business community has been nothing short of spectacular. When they saw that skilled, talented South Carolnians were available to fill their vacancies, they knew they had to be a part of Employ SC. This situation has proven, once again, that we will always answer the call to help our neighbors in their times of need."
